Description

The control cabinet and equipment coolers of the ORS series are heat exchangers based on water/air coolers. Therefore, they require water in the form of cooling tower water, recirculation water etc. The capacity of the coolers is dependent on water temperature, water flow rate and air temperature. Warm air is drawn in at the top, cooled and blown out at the bottom. Threaded bushes in the base plate allow the entire unit to be attached to the control cabinet from the inside.

Mechanical Design

The unit is fully enclosed, complete with internal tubing, prewired and therefore ready to be connected (fuse or motor protection switch is client’s responsibility). The power cable is 2.5 m long. The heat exchanger consists of Cu tubes with aluminium fins. It is tested for leaks at 130 bar to ensure maximum safety. The fins are securely attached to the core tubes by using a special widening method to maximize heat transfer.

The fans are robust, maintenance-free radial fans with high reserve capacity. This ensures good air flow through the cabinet, which is a basic requirement for effective cooling. The fan impeller is statically and dynamically balanced in accordance with quality class Q6.3 VDI 2060 and runs smoothly. The fan motor is an externalrotor motor with an enclosure which has a standard protection of IP 44 (ISO class B). Normally, the housing can be painted to your specifications.

If no paint finish is specified on ordering, the ORS is delivered in primer-coated version. You can also specify the total length L. The advantage of this is that the air inlet and outlet can be located where you need them and not obstructed by large objects such as a converter, or the like. If no total length is specified, the ORS will be supplied in the standard length of 1200 mm.
