Heat and dirt are the greatest enemies of any electrical control system. With regard to electronic components they oftentimes lead to the failure of entire systems with major consequential damage. Unfortunately, the common solution to blow external air through the cabinets leads to the soiling of components. However, soiling acts as an insulator between the component and the air and, as a consequence, the component temperature will rise. The primary decisive factor, though, is to cool the components and not the air.
Therefore, a closed air circuit should be preferred. Besides cool air an adequate airstream and ventilation duct avoiding heat pockets is also necessary for the cooling process. The device cooler GR operates on the basis of heat exchangers. So it needs water in the form of cooling water, well water etc. The cooler capacity depends on water temperature, water quantity and air temperature. Specifications and Structure
- The 19″ slide-in unit is fully ready to plug in. The front plate consists of anodized aluminium and the self-luminous ON/OFF switch has been installed in the front plate.
- The heat exchanger
consists of copper pipes with aluminium fins. A pressure of 30 bar is applied during the leakage test to ensure maximum safety. The fins are tightly connected with the core pipes through a special expansion procedure thus ensuring the highest heat transfers.
- The fans
are strong maintenance-free radial fans with a high residual thrust. A high residual thrust means a good airstream through your cabinet which is extremely important for the prevention of heat pockets.
- The motors
of these radial fans are of protection class IP 44 by default or IP 54 as an option. The bearings are carried out as ball bearings and completely maintenance-free. They normally have a service life of 40,000 hours. The rotor with fan blades is balanced out dynamically according to VDI 2060, quality class Q2,5.
- The electrical connection
is made through a rubber connector on the rear side of the device. The device cooler is completely switched on via the switch in the front plate.

- The water connections
are on the rear side. They consist of a 1/2″ external thread and a 3/8″ internal thread. The enclosure is closed and consists of individual aluminium plates.
- Direction of flow: Sucking in from the left, blowing out to the right, when viewed from the front plate.
- Electrical connections: Rubber connector on the rear side.
- Temperature control: Option via solenoid valve or proportional valve.
- The cooling capacities

Usually, there will not be any condensation water. However, if this should happen nonetheless at very low water temperatures, installation of a dripping water basin with outward drainage might be necessary.
